As well as the surrounding island, Grassholm island is and island formed from volcanic rock. There is no people being who inhabit this island. But that does not mean the island without inhabitants. The island is home to thousands of birds Gannet. Gannet birds that come in during april-september each year. As a result, the island is covered by a thick layer of bird droppings, which is also known as guano. Guano is what makes it look white.

While home
Ganet these birds come to the island Grassholm to spawn. Parent birds incubate their children until they hatch. After hatching, the females and males feed their children together for 3 months. After the children are old enough and able to fly alone, this Ganet bird family will leave the island. They will come back in the next year. Grassholm Island only be a temporary home for them.
The uniqueness of this island invites many people to come see it. This island can be seen from the ship approaching the island. Tourists are not allowed to come down to this island because it would disrupt the lives of the birds Ganet it. If not careful step, they can be trampled nests. Tons of guano on the island also cause unpleasant aroma. Better we see and perpetuate the view from far away.
